Re: GM Hummer - Martyn, Back Room moderator
Nick, we mentioned these a few months ago in The Back Room if you're interested. Use the 'search' for Hummer.
Re: GM Hummer - Eleanor Coughran
In the US they cost from 25K to 100K, beware there are genuine and fake Hummer's. They will cost a ton of money to run in the UK as the MPG is terrible.

Re: GM Hummer - Martyn, Back Room moderator
Eleanor, is the spelling mistake in your email address deliberate, maybe to deter spammers?
Re: GM Hummer - Eleanor Coughran
Spelling mistake?
Re: GM Hummer - Dan J

Stu - I need your edit button reinstated... I meant eleanor!!
Re: elanor making fun of MBRM? - speller
Come on Elly, is your e-mail addy genuine. Or are you a faker? I will try it out to see if the mail bounces. If you do not want to give the addy to the forum, why not just leave it out?
Re: elanor making fun of MBRM? - Martyn, Back Room moderator
As an aside: to make an obvious error in an email address is a good ruse to combat spam, because everyone who isn't a spambot can see that it's deliberately wrong. A better way would be to put something like eleanor@nospam.urbanear.com, then there's be no excuse for pedantic so-and-sos like me to jump on it.

OK then Eleanor, I promise not mention the Bentley again.

And ...yes, OK, we won't even hint at the shooting of House Martins again.....................promise..........honest.

Shooting House Martins in one's Bentley, what have you been drinking?

Hey what about the Humvee thread? I've also had a thing about these vehicles ever since the Gulf War and my Kuwait days. What a wonderful anti-PC vehicle.
C'mon chaps,

I have been offered a Bentley Turbo R, 1990 with a factory installed ZYTEC ENGINE/INTERCOOLER, 410 bhp. Does anyone know anything about these engines compared to the standard Turbo? Regards Eleanor

I just do not understand all this messing about with E-mail addresses... I have used my real address (Boss@windshadow.com) for years now and I just run SpamKiller and it sends off about 100 messages a week like this:

The original message was received at %DATETIME

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<%EMAIL>

----- Transcript of session follows -----
... while talking to %POP3:
>>> RCPT To:<%EMAIL>
<<< 550 <%EMAIL>... User unknown
550 <%EMAIL>... User unknown

to spammers that I never see or are even aware of... it works a treat and I get to see mail that Is important to me and I do not have to play silly buggers with false addresses.

www.spamkiller.com/
it's cheap and it really works... they give you a free 30 day full use free trial to let you decide if you want to pay for it.

But GM has been showing a4/5 size version that will be a better fit on a normal road...
They call it the H2 and this flash site has full details on both versions

Eleanor...

"In the US they cost from 25K to 100K, beware there are genuine and fake Hummer's. "

I am intrigued - what on earth is a fake Hummer ? Are they based on something else ? Do they look the same as a genuine hummer ?

Mark.
