xantia 16v injector o-ring - rip
hi again, back for some help for my 1996 xantia 1.8 16v .

I think one of my injectors is leaking, so i will replace the upper and lower o-ring. The dealer says both upper and lower are the same - is this correct?

Also does anyone know where i can buy 5 of these rings on either the net or in Leicester? (i.e. all four lowers, plus the leaking injector top o-ring). The dealer wants over £10 for what amount to five pieces of copper. GSF and eurocarparts says main dealer only- great!

ive also tried the local bosch stockist.(my engine type is Xantia 1.8i 16v XU7JP4/L3 (LFY) 1995 - 2001 Motronic MP5.1.1)

anyone, any ideas please? or am i stuck with dealer?

I've looked in the manual and from the photos in it it is not possible to see if the "o" rings are the same top and bottom.
They don't look like copper, they look like normal "rubber" o rings. If you are sure that one is leaking then it may be worth biting the bullet and buying from a dealer or a local Citroen specialist.
To be honest, by the time you have sourced some, paid for them, and post and packing, the dealer price may not be too bad.

I know that the price is a rip off for the actual simple engineering part but that's life.

The manual also advises a smear of engine oil on the o rings to aid re-assembly.

Thanks mjm, like you ive had a good read through the Haynes and it appears good on this topic with lots of photos and clear step-by-step instructions.

Looks like dealer it is, my only gripe was £10 or so is not a lot of money, but over £2 each for something that costs pennies (if that) seems a total rip off.

Oh well at least it will be spend wisely on some French executives AGM!
