Kangoo timing belt change - crofty
My Renault Kangoo is coming up for 50k and is just coming out of its 3 year warranty,I was thinking of changing the cambelt at the next service (54k).Do you think this is a bit premature and does anyone have any reports of early cambelt failures. It is a 1.9 diesel with a full service history.

Anyone?

Hi mate,

I don't really know alot about the renault kangoo vans, but what I can say is that if in doubt with this mileage, get the belt changed, will give you some peace of mind, especially if you are keeping the van for a year or 2 more. Also, if the van has been carry a lot of weight, this will put more stress on the engine and also, I believe that vans with the same engine as a car model, require an earlier (mileage) cambelt change than a car with the same engine. I think it is to do with the weight and stresses on the engine.

I hope this has helped a little, hopefully somebody more clued up will offer some more 'concrete' advice :)

Paul
