Hi all. Is it ok to use engine flush in my engine 2003 reg 16000 miles Thanks
|
Personaly.I would not use engine flush in an old engine.Let alone an engine thats only done 16k miles..
It may also accelerate engine wear.So beware if you do.
Just my thoughts.
I would stay with normal oil/filter change

why?
Why do you want to flush? its only done 16,000 miles in a reasonable timescale (two years or less). If the oil has been changed as per service schedule there is nothing to flush out!!!

The man makes a very solid point. One reason people consider engine flushing is to remove any harmful deposits etc. - but as the man has said, if everything is hunky-dorey (ie: the car has been serviced accoridng to shcedule and there isn't a problem)then why would you want to?

Just realised your car is part of the VAG group...as a general rule I don't think they advocate flushing...unlike Peugeot and Ford (who I have first hand experience of) offer it as part of their service as a cost option.

Thanks to you all. I won't bother flushing, I thought I'd just check first. The dealer for my last car, a mitsubishi also offered (recommended) flushing as a cost option.
