Hi,
Was just wondering if anybody out there is having a similar problems we've been having with our Corsa.
Was purchased about May '04.
Faults so far:
1) Indicators randomly clicking like mad. Went in for a check (no, it wasn't the bulbs!) and they replaced some repeater module.
2) Indicators failing again and clicking like mad. This time they replaced a different repeater module (how does this car have). Since then no more reported problems with the indicators. Apparrently this was susposed to be fixed in the '04 model!
3) CD player refused to play CDs!!! Took 6 weeks (yes six) to get a replacement.
4) Engine getting louder and louder. Took it in again and was told Belt tensioner needed replacing. Also, car noticeably sluggish.
5) About 2 weeks after problem no. 4 was fixed, engine started getting really loud again, this time louder than before. Took it in again and was told they would need to order parts. What's worse is that we were advised not the drive the car anymore as the timing chain had nearly gone :-O. We're still waiting for this to be fixed (nearly two weeks now car has been off the road)!!! There seems to be a problem getting new timing chains and MAY get the part in a couple of days!!!!
Anybody else with similar problems??

How many miles had the car done ?
Is it the 1.3 Fiat engine in your car ?

Car has done nearly 20K and yes it's the 1.3 CDTi engine. Are all CDTi's made by Fiat then. Wish I knew before hand :-)

According to the car by car breakdown (menu on left)
"New common rail 1.3CTDi (1,249cc FIAT Multijet)"
The Fiat 1.9CDTi in the Vectra has apparantly got a cambelt. Is this not the same for the 1.3CDTi as well?

Don't think so. The dealer definately said timing chain. Also, just discovered part is non-stock UK so they have to get it sent from Germany. Yet another delay :-(

Your not alone with the indicator problem! On my 2001 1.2Sxi when you got to indicate on the motorway to change lanes and push the stalk down a bit to just show a few flashes, it keeps flashing after youve released the stalk again. Its got me baffled as it only does it when indicating left.

indicator problem sounds a little different to ours. Ours went mad sometimes a bit like when one of the bulbs have gone. Your indicators seemed to have gone the way of the new Astras as they 'work' strangely as well :-)

if its the Fiat engine, why not pop down to the Fiat dealer and get teh part?

With respect Buddy the car would be in main dealer warranty and as a result it would be down to VX to replace/rectify/correct the fault and get the part wherever it is they get them from :P
