In my local Tesco carpark at 10mph my tyres squeal when turning a corner.
Funnily enough I never notice it from other cars.

The noise is quite common in my local multi storey and a bit unnerving , especially when you have just bought a new car and take it into the multi storey.
I believe it is because the ramps of the multi storey are usually concrete which has a corrugated surface.
Anybody remember the noise made by your tyres on concrete motorway surfaces.I used to hate those sections on the M25 but have not seen ( or heard ) any recently.
As always the builders go for the cheapest option.

The M6 near Preston (and one on the M6 in the Midlands) used to have sections where the concrete surfaces created a very noisy vibration that was quite unnerving - almost as if the engine was about to pack up.

A lot of modern car parks have that coating painted on-like you can buy for your garage floor. It's a grey stuff that leaves a plastic coating, I presume to help prevent the ingress of oil, salt water etc.
This coating makes a lovely sound under the tyres, and I'm not 100% sure it provides a good grip, so that maybe explains the shuddering effect?

The rumbling sound got me as well - I thought it was the car!

Only happens in Woking IIRC!

Hmmm, not sure they have to be multistory, this has been happening at work as I pull out of my parking space and apply lock, it is like I have a flat front tyre on the outside of the arc. Maybe it is the slat, then Permises staff use the old fashioned grit and apply it liberally. I thought it was the car needed something replacing...maybe it does anyway?

So did I, specially as its car parks I have used b4, the first time I pumped up the front tyres of the car I was using, then it happened on mine, and then Mrs RF reported it on hers, so I assume there is no car problem but a weather/salt/surface combo
