my sister is getting a breadmaker, my mother is thinking about getting a breadmaker, and my girlfriend wants a breadmaker for christmas. HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD.
and to keep this thread on a motoring subject, does anybody know if you can buy an in-car adaptor for a breadmaker ;-)

Breadmakers are a fad like sandwich makers, they will just clutter prime space on counter tops up and down the country ;-) you can buy an inverter to run one for your car.ladas are slow wrote:

Don't even think about it, young man. Driving and breadmaking don't mix. It's much harder to make bread than smoke a fag.....steering wheel and gearknob will get sticky. And remember the lady who got booked for eating a kitkat. Those nice policemen would get very cross if they caught you.
Why can't you make bread at home, anyway??
If it's a matter of boredom behind the wheel, try knitting.

Given the recent threads, I predict that in 2 years time, car boot sales will be cluttered with breadmakers and pressure washers ...
|
Is it the same with breadmakers as it is with pressure washers - i.e. you are advised to use them while wearing slippers?

Sorry Ian we should have mentioned the protective footwear issue sooner.
Slippers are out I'm afraid. If you have a duff batch and open the thing up halfway through the mixture can spray out and stick to those lovely tartan slippers like concrete.
Then what's Auntie Mabel going to say?

"open the thing up halfway through the mixture can spray out"
plus it sticks to the Minnie Mouse ears on the base ball cap and it looks a complete beggar when you are down the B&Q car park with the boys Saturday night/Sunday morning

I think the new BMW 7 series has a built in breadmaker!
|
|
Yep, its the new car accessory you didn't know you needed.
But seriously folks. The taste of the home made variety is much much much better than Tesco puttyloaf.

Eleanor,
Not being a chauvinist you understand.
But...how on earth did you know about inverters???/.
I'm very impressed.

Do you mean the Panasonic (original and best) or the (heavily advertised) Kenwood?
|
Trust me - buy the Panasonic.
The great smell of 'bun in the oven'. You can't beat it!
|
Sorry, that should read 'pun in the oven' and I just found that HJ beat me to it!

Somehow, "she's got a bun in the breadmaker" doesn't sound quite right. Could lead to a popgun wedding.
