Not really a 'new' topic. Flap valve control motor as referred to by LeePower 22Aug04.
Thanks Lee, for that info. Located and removed same. Will try 'scrappies' next week - meanwhile a Q or 2.
When refitting, is there a specific position for the external drive (the semi-circular toothed drive) in relation to the position of the actual flap valve. Assuming the flap valve to be in the open position, should the drive on the motor be fully at left or fully at right or central?
Or does the drive 'sort itself out'
I intend to get the manual but in the meantime tried the local library. Only manual available was 99 on. Looked uder ventilation (section 3, I think) but there was no reference at all to the flap valve, so I looked in Citroens of a similar year but not one refered to the flap valve -- that I could find.
So I thought I'd come back to the source of real experience.

Thanks DL.
Hoped it might be something like that. I found a unit at the Scrappy (well, the eight one actually). After I struggled it out I saw that it was a two-wire rather than a 3-wire so I swapped the plastic gears.
Would it have functioned as a 2-wire?
