fiesta p-plate engine - daveyK_UK
fiesta 1.2 zetec p plate 5 door.

engine nackered.

big ends i think.

car runs, but as soon as you put your foot down - horrible loud noise.


can this be fixed or is a new engine the only option?

car is mint so worth repairing.

how much for a new engine?

horrible loud noise could be anything from a loose pulley to a worn camshaft to a broken exhaust manifold..

im not well up on engines.

the mechanic said its the 'big ends'

she didnt ask them if it could be repaired, although he did say you will struggle to find an engine.

any help?

how much for a fiesta 1.2 engine?

try ebay for an engine or ask some of the internet brokers. Lots around . Price? Dunno
Search on Fiesta spares: several companies specialise in them. About £500?

One here on ebay £100 be quick!

Had a look at one several months ago..It was reported as having big ends gone. Turned out Hole in no1 piston. Cost £500 to repair..Apart from the time involved getting the parts.It seems to be a difficult unit to obtain.Otherwise it would have been easier to replace than repair..May be different now
