GM Europe making a mess - Happy Blue!
This morning's DTelegraph..GM Europe having to close down some plants, possibly even the whole of Saab manufacturing and transferring it to Germany.

Crazy - who wants to buy a Saab if they are all made and designed outside Sweden - they will have no USP - thats the only reason to buy one - they are not German and not Volvo.

ALso, they have too much petrol engine production and not enought diesel.

In the 1980s they had a superb line up. They have lost there wasy and even Opel is considered a liability as a brand. What have they done wrong?

Bought SAAB in late 1980s iirc: and then did nothing with the model line up.

The model range in Germany was eclipsed by the Golf.. and they never replied.

GM have a well deserved reputation for minor electrical faults: and poor engineering - and poor body finish: rust.

Their diesel engine range was .. poor.


Run by US engineers who considered a posting to Europe only a sojourn away from the mother countryt. GM in US are not very good either.

Just a world leader in continuous decline : once was world no 1 .. long ago eclipsed by Toyota
