Range Rover Classic 4.2LSE - v8man
My Rangie runs on LPG and petrol. Does anyone know if at MOT time the emissions are tested with the engine running on petrol or gas? If gas, can I get away with fitting an exhaust pipe minus the cats? I intend to fit tubular headers with lambda fittings. As the probes are upstream of the cats the ECU will not know whether they are fitted or not.

It will be tested 'as presented' - i.e. if you drive up to them on gas then they test on gas....

Thanks for that Aprilia. As you know about these things, will it fail on gas if the cats are not fitted? One of my cats is rattling and can only be replaced as a pair with the 'Y Piece', so I thought about a nice set of tubular headers. The new cats are the best part of £900! Ouch!
