Had a spare coded key made at Timpsons for a 2001 Mazda 323.
Opens doors but will not allow engine to start.
The existing Mazda spare key will not function either.
Is there a procedure to get them working?
The Timpson's guy has refunded the £25 it cost.

The spare key is encoded according to the reading device and the new key had the code from the functioning key copied over.

Not really my field but it is possible that the Mazda immobiliser uses a rolling code ie every time you press the button it changes the code for the next op. Pressing the button a few times away from the car can get it all out of kilter and it wont recognise the key anymore. Either that or the equipment Timpsons use has nadgered something. Suggest you contact Mazda asap!
