New style number plates. - Rodney
Hi,

Was'nt it true that the Government/DVLA were originally going to introduce the new style number plate so that it changed every month? I thought so anyway.

If this was the case why did they change their mind?

I remember when cars didn't have number plates, back in the days when I was in the navy....

I may be getting older but I find these new numbers confusing.

DA51 DEL could be easily mistaken for D451 DEL, couldn't it ?? There are many like this but can cameras or the general public distinguish these at a distance ? Why isn't there a space between the first 4 characters such as

DA 51 DEL - surely it's obvious ???

That's why the regulations state the layout of the number plate

DA51 DEL is illegal

DA 51 DEL is legit
