Fiesta Immobiliser Prob - pengu99
Hi

I own a ford fiesta xr2i 1.6 (H plate) with a Laser Line Immobiliser that i think was installed in the 90's. I seem to have lost the Fob to demobilise the car. I brought the car second hand from a friend and he does not have the alarm key for the device. What steps can i take to get the car started again.

If there is anything else i can tell you about the car please let me know.

thanks in advance.

some early immobilisers work by disabling the starter motor circuit. If the car will push start then then you have one of these and it should be fairly easy to find the immobiliser circuit and bypass it. Otherwise locate the immobliser box and trace all the wires coming from it to work out what circuits it it linked to.

Alternatively a car alarm firm should be able to remove it easily or they may even be able to supply a new remote.

A friend's Micra has just had the same problem with a failed Laserline alarm. Local auto electrician took only a short time to locate the ignition &, I think, the fuel pump circuits and took out all the wiring related to the alarm so car could be started.
