MX5 Light and mysterious noises - CM
My colleague has a G reg MX5 which has begun to play up.

There is a light that is lit up, which is not mentioned in the handbook. It is to the left of the handbrake (which on the MX5 is on the left hand side of the centre console). Does anyone have any ideas?

We are not sure if the mysterious noises are connected. The noise is apparently like a "walkie-talkie", in other words a staticy hiss with intermittent squeaks. This happens quite a lot and comes and goes during the duration of a journey.

The light and noise seem to be connected and comes on after the noise comes (but then again the two seem to sometimes run independently of each other).

Any thoughts welcome!
