I would say it was very similar to the engine in the Bora.

Well, if ever there was a warning not to DIY, this is it! Imagine the consequences of just getting a little bit wrong! One of the few jobs I would entrust to a VW dealer despite the cost. Or better still buy a car with a chain drive camshaft.
