Volvo 440 flasher unit location

Volvo 440 flasher unit location - Ben F
A friend of mine has a Volvo 440 (L-reg) and the indicators don't flash, but are just on constantly when operated. I think the flasher unit must be to blame, the one problem being that we can't seem to find it. It isn't in the fuse box or with the other relays under the bonnet as far as we can see. I suspect that it might be behind the dashboard - does anyone happen to know?

Ithink you will find that the flasher unit is integral with hazard/seat belt warning unit,above clock.
