The lights on my Brother in Laws 205 'pulse' when he is driving at at night with them on.
Can anyone advise him please?

We had this on our MGF. Turned out to be something to do with the alternator (voltage regulator IIRC). Someone more knowledgable will no doubt be along to confirm.

Agree - several years ago one of our company Cavaliers displayed this pulsing for all lights, interior & on the dash as well as headlights. Faulty alternator.

Check the earth straps and the main connection between the Negative and the body. Put a volt meter between the Alt Body and the Neg terminal to made sure everythink is earthed The voltage should be zero. If all is OK then hold the revs at 2000 and measure the battery voltage it should be 13.75 to 14.2 volts and stable, if it is dancing around I suspect the Alternator voltage regulator is faulty.
