Help Vectra V6 2.5 GLS Miss-fire - u037730
My Vectra (1997 'P' GLS Saloon) has a misfire which is most noticeable at about 1200-1500 RPM and I think is also higher in the rev range too. This car has been to a tuning centre where It was diagnosed that the HT leads were breaking down, these have been replaced as were the plugs and it still has the same miss-fire.
Taking advise from others I have just fitted a new Bosch DIS pack and the problem is still there.

Has anyone had previous experience of this & how to resolve?

I'm not sure if this is relevant but the rear exhaust manifold is cracked and blowing slightly, do you know of anyone who would be interested in replacing it (I live in Eastcote W.London)?

Thanks in advance

Mike Hunnisett
Help Vectra V6 2.5 GLS Miss-fire - Andrew Moorey (Tune-Up)
Hi Mike, I think the cracked manifold is most significant as an air leak here will allow oxygen into the manifold and upset the response from the O2 (lambda) sensor for that bank. A professional quality diagnostic tool will be able to read the live data from all of the sensors and allow a comparison between the front and rear (Banks 1 + 2). In any case fix the leak!
