An AA trainee was fired after changing the name on Tony Blair's file to Saddam Hussein, it was reported.
The customer services worker was with the AA in Erskine, Renfrewshire, when he altered the name on the internal document.

The file is believed to belong to Mr Blair, according to reports in The Sun.

The paper reports the man changed Mr Blair's name to "Saddam Hussein - aka t**tface" during a training session on his second day with the organisation.

An AA spokeswoman confirmed that the trainee had tampered with a file.

She said: "The trainee changed a customer's record and any tampering with member's files results in immediate dismissal.

"This was a thoughtless and stupid prank and the worker is no longer with us."

Routine checks

The spokeswoman said the organisation came across the altered file during an internal routine safety check.

She said: "The change was noted and reversed very quickly, thanks to our routine internal checks.

"No correspondence was sent to the member concerned."

The man, understood be from Greenock, was one of five new members of staff taken on by the AA's customer services department.
