creaky suspension - Nellyspania

On my horrid little seat marbella 850cc, the leaf spring suspension at the back is quite creaky. would this cause an MOT failure? the shocks are ok and the rubber bushes look alright too.

I don't think creaks are covered Nelly. As long as the mountings etc are ok. Couldn't you apply some silicon lubricant on the springs? Check first with the manufacturer though as I wouldn't want to mis advise you. Don't use mineral oil on them, because of the bushes. You shouldn't have any problems with creaks on the MOT. You might get a creaky inspector! Cheers Mike

I can confirm aslong as the bushes and suspension components are serviceable then the car will pass the MOT even if it creaks away like an old farm trailer.

BUT, a creak does indicate something amiss, so don't expect everything to be ok....you might have just missed something.
