Coil packs are a very common failure on these engines and the most likely candidate. Not expensive (around £50 plus vat for a genuine Ford part) and not much labour involved in fitting but don't drive it any distance as the unburnt fuel will not do the catalyst any favours.

Usual causes of misfire on these engines are spark plug,ht leads or coil pack.Have you checked engine oil level.?

no i havent could this be part of the problem

The ignition on these engines is wasted spark which means if there is a misfire on no 4 there is also a misfire on No 1. So if there is no misfire on No. 1 you do not have an ignition issue and replacing the coil pack, plugs, leads etc would be a waste of money.

So before you do anything carefully check if the misfire is present on both 1 & 4.

Check the exhaust temp for each cylinder. A pair of low ones i.e 1 & 4 or 2 & 3 indicate an ignition fault. A single low one indicates which cylinder has the issue. It could be fueling or something internal such as a faulty valve.
