Mondeo 2.2 TDCi - 2007 - Turbo Problems - Artthedec

Hi I have had my Mondeo looked at today by the RAC as it wouldn't start and have been told that the turbo has blown. Oil is coming out of the exhaust and a neighbour who is in the trade confirmed that it is definitely the Turbo. I have recently been putting water in the car every other day - my question is, if I get a refurbished turbo or whatever, will the water problem be solved? Is this caused by the Turbo? I have had a new water pump recently fitted and my car has always been so reliable! Any advice would be great please.

Not convinced this is your problem.A blown turbo will not cause the engine to not start.However if it has dumped all the oil in the exhaust system ,then this may cause a blockage to cause a non start.The turbo is lubricated by oil,there is no coolant involved.Looks like there could be major problems here,on a car not worth very much.
