NISSAN XTRIL - NISSAN X TRAIL 2002 - kay4me
Hi John, am glad i found you. i have a nissan Xtrail 2002, i changed the Air filter sensor not to long ago and after that it developed a problem. When i start, it goes off after a few second .after 3 4 times starting it starts , but the moment i engage in Drive or reverse it goes off. again you try 3 t o 4 times, then it engages and when it responds it is slow to pick up with a lot of misfiring there after it gets ok. i tried changing the plugs, cleaned the throttle body but all in vain. when put on a diagnostic machine no error is being recorded. Please advice.

It sounds like one or more cylinders isn't firing correctly when cold.

I would try changing the coil pack or pencil coils depending which this engine uses.

Surprised there is no diagnostic faults being reported. Might be that the diag kit being used isn't up to the job.
