Audi A6 - Audi Gearbox - MJ Kent

Suspect I have aserious gearbox problem with a 2012 Audi A6 CVT multitonic. Car has under 40k miles but is just out of warranty. Anyone with experience on how to handle this. New gearbox will be mega expensive. Any view on whether this is a common problem?

This is typical of most car makers,build it just good enough to do the warranty period then stuff the customer with a large repair bill.I suspect a new gearbox from Audi is around £5k plus.Irrespective of any warranty,I would expect a gearbox from a "premium product?)to last more than 40 k miles. Press dealer for some good will ,or take it to an independant g/box specialist.I think you will find this is a fairly well known issue with the cvt box.

It MUST have oil changes as per Audi requirments.

SO first job: check service history. Which is? Full Audi?
