VW Passat Estate 2005 - How do you remove the N/S/F Door Lock..? - Terry41

Help please... My n/s/f door lock has ceased to operate, it has been checked out and the fault lies within the mechanices of the lock and not the electrics.... we cannot open the door, so how do we remove the lock....??????

With difficulty.If you are not mechanically minded i would leave this to an expert.The door card ,and all the internal workings of the door will need to be removed,including the glass.The door lock/latch mechanism will need to be smashed/damaged in order for the door to be opened.

One no cost thing you can try which has worked for me.

Firmly bang on the door on the outside close to the lock while someone else keeps operating the lock/ unlock button on the drivers door.

Do this while the engine is running.

The vibration is sometimes just enough to get it operating.
