citreon c5 hpi two ltr - car drops to 2000 after reving to 3000 and above - hammerwack

car starts, will rev up to max revs for aprox. 10 seconds, then revs drop to 2000, turn car off and immidatly start car again and it will rev up again, then again drop down to 2000. if left on tick over car will run all day.Can you help.

Have you checked and changed the fuel filter ?

If you have described it properly, ie HPI, not HDI, then that is a 2 litre petrol engine. It was not in production for long and the amount of technical knowledge generally available for it is limited. It is a complex unit.

I think that you really need the fault codes/live data read via Citroen specific diagnostic gear. (Lexia and Diagbox.)
