Rover 25 1.4 year 2000 - loosing water

Rover 25 1.4 year 2000 - loosing water - Delysher

Having to top up water resovoir bottle in engine every day, if car used only several miles.

Their is water dripping from by the sump bolt / nut when engine is running.

Would it ber the the water pump ?

Could be many things.Water pump,coolant hose,thermostat housing,core plug or worst way head gasket.

Does the car do over 5 miles and/or turned on over 10 minutes per journey?

if the answer is yes and there is white gunge around the oil filler cap, it will be your head gasket.

very well known problem with this car and engine

Check the o rings on the inlet manifold, known to rot and allow coolant to leak down the back of the engine to the sump.
