VW Golf (2001) suffered several minor problems - all seem to relate to fuses or electrical problems. Cigarette lighter not working. On youtube it seems 95% of problems relate to simple fuse change & cleaning of connectors. I need this to charge phone / use sat-nav, etc. Any trouble shooting suggestions? Tried cleaning connections, checked fuse, not blown, all connectors seem sound.

Also, all fuses seem mucked up - the rear wipe won't work, if I change the cigarette one, it sets the front wipers haywire, squirting cleaner fluid & keeping wiper blades moving! Is there a simple, CHEAP way I can look at fixing this myself? Or do I have to take it to mechanic - and is any of it dangerous to fix myself?
