Discovery sunroof - A S THOMPSON
I have 1996 Discovery with usual twin sunroofs. Has done 35,000 used mainly for towing caravan. New sunroof fitted June 1999 because the rubber seal was leaking. Just two years later the new sunroof is leaking again. Told this is a common problem, main dealer are unable to reseal without fitting new roof light.

Landrover will not supply a rubber gasket which would probably cost a few quid. The cost of a complete new sunroof is approx. £250 plus VAT plus fitting. Somewhere in the region of £340. WHAT A RIP OFF. Anybody else have this problem, any answers?

I've already suggested to AST that he goes to a Motor Factor, ask if they can find out who makes the sunroofs for Land Rover, and source a replacement sunroof seal that way. Maybe another backroomer has a more direct answer as to who makes this pop-up sunroofs: probably Weathershields or Webasto.
