Renault Megane - 07 Renault Megane New Turbo Poor MPG - takuhii

Hi,

I recently had the turbo on my 07 Renault Megane 1.5 DCi 106, and noticed I am not getting the MPG I used to. Typical MPG before turbo 44MPG, now I'm lucky if I see 36MPG.

Is the turbo for the Megane different, as I know there is an 86 version of my Megane, and wondered if you guys had noticed/heard of this before?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Is the performance still the same as before the turbo was changed? If so I don't think it will be anything to do with it. How are you checking you mpg, do you have a computer readout? If its only since the cold weather that your consumption has dropped this may well be the cause, especially if you are only doing short journeys.

Thanks for your reply.

Performance isn't the same as before, it's a little sluggish and the "kick" I used to get isn't there anymore.

I'm using the onboard computer to check mpg, but local traffic has been awful recently, the turbo was replaced at the start of Jan this year (2015).
