Hi, car drives normally most of the time, sometimes just cuts out at any speed, as if out of diesel, or stalls at traffic lights, starts straight back up no problems, changed fuel filer, no change, plugged into code reader, code u2196 come s up. Can anyone shed any light on what this problem could be, many thanks

A Google for U2196 'suggests' possible crankshaft position sensor. Check the wiring and plug on the sensor next to the crankshaft damper pulley. Remember that this sensor works in conjunction with the magnetic disc at the back of the cam-belt crankshaft pulley - has that been damaged during a recent cam-belt change? Has the cam-belt been changed in the last 100K miles? Could the belt be old and stretched? If the cam-belt is due for renewal, do that and check out the magnetic disc and sensor and wiring whilst it's being done.

Update on problem with fiesta cutting out, turned out to be connector plug on mass air flow sensor. My mechanic pulled the plug off, blew into the connector plug, put it back on, problem solved. Maybe plug was not connected properly or maybe bit of crap in the plug, as I said , problem solved, happy days.
