Suzuki Swift - Door mirror not defrosting

Suzuki Swift - Door mirror not defrosting - Halmerend
Hi All

With the frosty weather I've noticed that only one of our Swift's mirrors is warming up. There's only only fuse for both mirrors and the electrical mirror position adjustment works on both.

Any ideas what it might be please or where I should take it to be looked at?

It's just out of warranty.

Possibly the heating element in the glass has failed.or poor/ broken connection to it.The mirror glass will need to be removed for testing.

Thanks so am I best taking it to an auto electrician rather than main dealer?

Couldn't you remove the mirror or its cover and check the connections for power with a simple prodder circuit tester (compass point with fuse light type for this), if there's power there then its a blown element.

The mirror housing seems to be a sealed unit - I can't see any external screws or clips etc.

I've shone a torch behind the glass and you can see that the connections seem to be sound etc.

Not sure how it cracks apart to be honest.

Not sure about this car ,but on most vehicles the glass just clips onto the electric adjustment mechanism.Use a tool similar to a putty knife to prise the glass off.
