Hi, please help. I have an insignia and my engine emission light is flashing.
At first it came up with code 55 and the emission filter light Came on. Then I tried to clear by going over 2000 revs this cleared the code but the light now flashes and beeps.
Any advise greatly appreciated
Thank you

Assuming your car is a petrol, a flashing MIL means that the ECM has detected an engine misfire. This detection comes from an irregular signal from the oxygen sensor. You need to locate and cure the misfire, which if left as it is could eventually destroy the catalyst.

Unfortunately engine emission lights merely let you know there is a problem with something. To know what you need a code reader.
You mention filter in your title, so it could be a DPF problem, if it is the engine light it could be EGR valve, turbo issues, blocked air pipework, injectors etc.
Find a good diesel specialist and let them have a look.
