Ford Fiesta Saloon - Fiesta whine - bruckshaw

My 2012 Fiesta 1.4 titanium, manual has covered 7500 miles. No problems except an unpleasant whine in 2nd gear when going through 2000 revs +/- 200 revs. under load. No whine under.ein any other conditions.

Is this normal or do I need to get it fived while under warranty?

If its under warranty I would get them to listen to it, the only thing that can be done is to check the oil level. Most gearboxes are subject to some whine but its not normally very noticable, the only cure would be to replace the gearbox.

If they say it's normal or characteristic of this model, ask them to demonstrate another car with the same noise. Don't be fobbed off, otherwise it will cost you when the warranty has expired and suddenly the garage agree with you and recommend changing the gearbox!
