Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI - Noisy Engine - Colin George

I recently bought this car,2006 plate,full service history through ford dealers,bought it on the Friday and drove to Cornwall,did about 900 miles in the first week.All sees good BUT the engine is noisy,its like a loud vibration noise,mainly when i accelerate,then when i am at a steady speed seems to go ??

Could just be normal for that engine - depends what you're used to. I had a 2006 LX and it seemed noiser than the 2009 Titanium I have now, they're both the same engine. Probably down to trim level and amount of sound insulation.

Could be an engine mounting issue as the engine twists when accelerating, could also be the exhaust touching the floor somewhere.
