peugeot 406 hdi estate - brakes light stays on got a second or two - mick40sne

Hi room.

brake light stays on after pedal release also pedal stays down . lights do go off after a second or two.

also brakes do not seem to be 100%

When you say the brake light - are you referring to the one on the instrument panel. If yes then you have brake circuit failure that needs fixing. Suggest you get the brakes looked at urgently.

Might not be relevant to this issue, but for future reference the brake light will also stay on if the brake fluid reservoir is low.
