Subaru reduces BRZ price by £2500

"Subaru says the price reduction is a result of a more favourable exchange rate with the Japanese Yen."

The rate was good at the end of December. it has taken IM Group a while to drop the price though.

I expect they buy the cars all at one time at one price. So they could have bought a load in say October at one price and now able to buy a new batch at a lower price because of the exchange rate.

A couple of months ago they cut the price of the XV by £2,000+

Maybe a realisation of selling only 2,000 cars a year needs to be addressed!

The price cut will bring the BRZ to around £1100 less than the equivalent Toyota GT86 - until now the Toyota started at £25110 and the Subaru £26,495. The previous price difference must have worked against the BRZ, as they are effectively the same cars, and Toyota have a wider dealer network.
