Honda Jazz 1.4 2010 - Replacement front and rear brake pads - Lisa W

Hi,

I have been quoted £220 at my local Honda garage to replace front and rear brake pads on my Honda Jazz 1.4. I have had the car since new (2010) and have had it serviced according to the on board computer schedule. It has done 36,800 miles to date. Do you think that this is a fair quote? I would appreciate your comments.

Thanks.

Yes.

Not cheap pads by any means, Pagid (good aftermarket) on Eurocarparts site approx £66 for both sets.

Should take a competent mechanic an hour tops if he cleans and lubes correctly.

Genuine parts probably nearer £100 so they're charging you an hour-ish, if there's a set of discs involved too then the price is very fair.

If you know a good indy mechanic you should get the pads alone done for £100/120 with good qual aftermarket pads, if you do this make sure he does fit something decent and not the cheapest tat available.

I have just had the pads and discs fitted in the UK on a Honda Insight it cost 230ukp complete.
