Nissan Micra K12 - Faulty sensor and white smoke - jeff nikon
Looking for advice about Nissan Micra DCI I went to test drive. Took one for a spin around town it was fine. Before deciding to buy it I took a trip up the motorway and when it reached 70mph I noticed white smoke in the rear view mirror then it cut out. It wouldn't restart at first but after a minute it did and after a short drive it cut out again twice. We drove slowly to a garage and had it put through diagnostic which returned the following codes: P0089 & P0190 relating to the sensor. The dealer said he'd get a new one fitted by next Monday. My question is could there be anything else going on as although I like the car I don't want to buy something that might need loads of money. Thanks guys.

Fault codes don't always tell the whole story. The fault you describe sounds more like a mechanical problem rather than a faulty sensor. Faulty turbo springs to mind amongst other expensive things.

I would walk away smartly from this car & keep looking.
