Formula E racing - hillman

Has anybody seen anything about the electric car races to be held in various cities round the world, including London. The US IEEE Spectrum magazine has an article in the January 2014 edition regarding the races. It looks very interesting. Hopefully the London race will be held on a Sunday or the poor commuter will be discomforted.

They won't be racing compettively round the streets of London, would need an Act of Parliament with all the associated red tape, remember how long it took Birmingham to get a race.

If there is an actual race it will be held at an official licenced race track.

Motor racing is banned on public roads except by Act of Parliament, as you say, but running and cycle races are permitted - is an electric car "motorised" for purposes of the RTA ban ?
