It seems that Renault Twingo 1.2 , are starting to have failures on their clutch pedal link rods where the rod socket is wearing and becoming detached from the connecting ball link. Seems to be starting on 2008/2009 year models. Theres no recall on this fault, but Renault commented they have repaired a number of cars with this problem.

The repair is in the region of £400/500, as the complete clutch pedal and linkage are all connect has to be changed.

The Clio has the same link set up but it seems the Clio's rod is a better material than the softer material on the Twingo.

Just to let Twingo owners know of this problem as later Twingos will start to exhibit the same problem.
