Toyota Avensis diesel 2.2 '08 model - oil maintenance required - Robin the Technician

Hi,

Wife has just reported that a message has just come up on the dash saying 'oil maintenance required'. The oil level is fine and it was changed in 2013. Its not done a great deal of mileage since it was changed.

Do i need to change it or do i take it for a run to get the oil hot and burn off some crud from it.

Suuggestions please

Probably on 9k or 12 month oil change intervals, if you haven't covered close to 9k miles i suspect the mechanic hasn't reset the mileage counter at the last service.

I'd dip the oil to make sure it hasen't risen as a result of fuel dilation.

Reading the manual..DUH!! there is the answer!!!

All done now...and they all lived happily ever after.
