nissan almera 1.5 2002 - key blade query - jim glm

i need to get my keyfob repaired,i don't have a spare key at the moment,i was wondering if i could just get a duplicate key blade for opening the doors manually,would this blade also start the engine,or does it have to be attached to the fob,any info would be greatly appreciated,as i don't want to be wasting cash,i can't send fob away to get fixed unless i get a spare cut.chicken and the egg syndrome i think you would call it.thanks in advance.

The metal key blade will open/close the car and turn on the ignition,unfortunately you need the other electronic bits in the key fob to enable the engine to start.hth
