i have the engine number of the replacement engine.

How can i find out how many miles it has done

will vw uk tell me

If you have the VIN and reg numbers for the donor car you may be able to get the info form the old MOT's.

Other than that the previous owner of the donor car may help.

VW would not know unless you had the reg and the car had been serviced by them from day one, unlikely.
