98 R Scenic Cold Starting - mattylamb
My R Reg Scenic 1.9 DT has real trouble starting in the cold weather. It was OK last winter, but this winter it has took up to 10 minutes to get the car started.

I had the car serviced on Saturday and this has improved things but it still doesn't seem right.

any ideas?

Well aside from taking it back and asking them to check their work, I'd be looking at the glowplugs or an air leak in the fuel system. Is it a 'quality' garage, are you sure they fully serviced the car - glowplug replacement may not have been done and if it has, insist on original equipment parts not cheapies, they just don't last.

I assume that the car was difficult to start before the service?

Just a thought - there's lot's of old threads on difficult to start diesels in cold weather, a couple of search's should bring up loads of info.
