vw golf plus 1.9 2006 - speedo, rev counter, fuel gauge, temp gauge out - dipsomaniac

all of the clocks/lights on the dashboard behind the steering wheel suddenly stopped wording yesterday. radio and heater ok.

fitted a new battery/alternator and replaced after market radio with orignal about a month ago.

any advice appreciated

I would start by checking the fuses,both in engine bay and cabin/ dash.

thanks for the reply. all started working again today with no intervention so am assuming the fuses are ok and that it must be a poor connection somewhere. anyone experienced a similar problem?

Unlikely to be a poor connection as all the connectors have anti rattle locking bars fitted.Could be a pod fault,not unknown on this model.hth

thanks for the reply. is the pod the whole instrument cluster? if so, does the whole dash have to come out to replace?

Pod is instrument panel.Can be removed without dismantling complete dash.However this pod contains lots of electronic info about the car including the immobiliser.hth
