I noticed in the images this car has a conventional handbrake. Just wondering if this is the norm for BMW and they're not offering the (pointless) electronic version for their cars? Actually, not that pointless because some elderly people find it difficult to release handbrakes. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-24492330

I think the 1, 3 and 4 series have proper handbrakes and 5 upwards have electronic gubbins.

If so, I'm not sure what the logic is but better that some models have proper handbrakes than none.

I do accept that some people like them - but why not give customers the choice by putting the on the options list? I suppose VAG might say they do, with Skodas and SEATs all having mechanical handbrakes, and the larger VWs and Audis electronic.

The problem wasn't the handbrake, but rather that it was left in drive/reverse.

Most handbrakes are easier to remove if you press the footbrake as well.

I don't wish to be cruel but if you don't have the stregnth to operate your car properly then it's time to use the bus pass and taxis.
