1.8 Citroen Picasso - Citroen Picasso Slight Taping - Big Bad Bob

Can anyone help with this one. I have an 1.8 Citroen Picasso which, if I rev sharply and quick, it will make a raspy rattle. But if the car is revved slowly, and steady, it doesnt make the noise. You get the same noise when driving but only at slow speed and low revs, but will drive through it. It usually does it after 5 minutes of running. It has had a recent service. Any ideas please. thanks.

I assume this is a petrol engine, difficult to know without hearing it but it could be worn hydraulic tappets especially if it started immediatly after an oil change. It could also be something connected with the auxilluary drive belt system or crankshaft pully

Hi yes it is petrol sorry forgot to say. it is a funny one because if you rev it nice and smooth it will not do it but if you do it shap swift rev it will sound like a raspy rattle like the old bob waights in the old cars when you was at low speed but put your foot down that's the only way i can describe
