Hi I have just purchased a grand scenic 1.9 diesel 05 plate 7 days ago and while on a trip to the coast bank holiday weekend I noticed a misfire at about halfway 50 miles or so the service light came on with " check injections" warning and the car restricted the revs to about 2000 and seemed to cut out the turbo, I guess to protect the car. We stopped turned off and on again and the system must have reset, the warning light was off and the car ran ok other than a regular inconsistent misfire/ lack of power. We returned to the garage who advised ran diagnostics and that advised the accelerator potentiometer which was changed today. The car is still misfiring mainly in lower gears while accelerating but no warning messages are being displayed.. Does anyone know of possible answers as to cause so I can point my garage in the right direct.. Thinking I should just ask for my money back if this isn't a simple fix as could cause issues later...
Unfortunately these are not the most reliable of cars, I would insist that they put it right or get your money back. For future reference use a diesel specialist rather than the dealer, they are usually cheaper and know what they are doing.
